Ronald Moody

Ronald Moody, age 70, of Alto, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016.

Born in Habersham County, on April 25, 1946, he was a son of Loreen Palmer Moody of Cornelia and the late James Henry Moody. Mr. Moody was a correctional officer for many years at Lee Arrendale State Prison before retiring from Gainesville Diversion Center. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Mr. Moody coached Recreational boys football and girls basketball for 30 years and was known by the children as “Papa Ronald”. He enjoyed horse farming and spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren play sports.

In addition to his mother, survivors also include his wife, Sandra Bohannon Moody of Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Mandy Moody of Alto; daughters and son-in-law, Kim and David King, and Kris Moody all of Alto; grandchildren and spouses, Len and Heather King of Alto, Taylor and Chelsey McDuffie of Demorest, Alex McDuffie of Alto, Ryann Moody and Regann Moody both of Alto; five great grandsons; brothers, Danny Moody and Ted Moody both of Cornelia, and Terry Moody of Clarkesville; sister, Patricia Greeman of Baldwin; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the funeral home.
