Roma M. Miller, age 96, formerly of Massillon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at her daughter’s home surrounded by family.
She was born on January 22, 1922, in Leetonia, Ohio and was the daughter of Edward and Doris Sauerwein. Roma lived in Massillon for many years before moving to Georgia to live with her daughter. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Miller, to whom she was married for over 62 years and her two sisters, Jane Less and Billy Shambaugh.
She leaves behind two daughters and sons-in-law, Sally and Dave Barron of Navarre, Ohio and Linda and Peter Knowles of Toccoa, Georgia; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Roma and John enjoyed travelling. She also loved working with the Altar’s Guild at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and loved to attend the Deaf Outreach Church both in Ohio.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road, Massillon, Ohio. The Rev. Darwin Smith of the Deaf Outreach Church will be officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm on Friday, April 20, 2018, at the funeral home.
Roma requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Amedisys Hospice, 53 Rock Drive, Toccoa, Georgia 30577.
