A Roswell man says he fell asleep at the wheel just before he crashed his car on GA 365 this afternoon in Mt. Airy.
67-year-old Ronald Ashley Neal was driving a Toyota Camry south near Hazel Creek Road just before 2 p.m. when he ran off the road. The Georgia State Patrol says he overcorrected while trying to get back onto the highway. Neal lost control of the car. It began to rotate as it moved into the median. The car overturned several times before coming to a rest on its top.
Passing motorists helped Neal get out of the wrecked car. Officials say he had visible injuries. Habersham EMS took Neal to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment.
GSP issued him a warning for failure to maintain lane.
