Rogers recognized by governor, Town of Alto for her many years of public service

State Rep. Victor Anderson presents Alto Town Clerk Penny Rogers with a commendation from Gov. Brian Kemp.

Penny Rogers has faithfully served the people of Alto for two decades and now, the town is saying ‘thank you.’

This week marks Rogers’ 20th year as Alto town clerk. A statement released by the town says, “She took the position on November 3, 2003, and has faithfully served and been a friend to the residents and Town Council of Alto.”

In recognition of the milestone, state Rep. Victor Anderson recently presented Rogers with a commendation from Gov. Brian Kemp. This week, the town will hold a drop-in reception honoring her.

Alto invites the public to stop by the Alto Municipal Complex between 3 and 5 p.m. on Friday, November 3, to enjoy refreshments and to let Rogers know how much she is appreciated. But don’t mistake this for a going away party, town leaders caution. “She will continue to serve as town clerk and is not leaving, just receiving a little well-deserved recognition and appreciation!”

The Alto Municipal Complex is located at 186 Wade Street.
