Rodney “Trent” Garrison, 60, of Cornelia, Georgia, took his heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2024, following a recent decline in health.
Born in Demorest, Georgia, on April 7, 1964, at the Habersham County Hospital, he was the son of Linda English Garrison and the late Phil Garrison. Trent attended Macon Academy for the Blind and graduated from Habersham Central High School, Class of 1984. He was baptized on January 5, 1975, by his grandfather, the late Rev. Clyde Garrison, and was a member of Line Baptist Church. Trent loved the Lord, his family, church friends, and the Georgia Bulldogs. He spent a lot of time reading Braille books, including the Bible, which he often read to the church congregation. Trent was always eager to bless the food before meals. He enjoyed talking about cars and experienced driving around family property, although he was blind. Trent’s friendly and curious personality will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Clyde Garrison, Brady English and Eva Mae Allen, cousin Janet Pinson, several aunts, and uncles he loved dearly.
In addition to his mother, survivors include aunts and uncles Gail Craven, Mary Ann Ellington, John and Brenda Garrison, Diane Garrison, Gail Garrison, Wanda Garrison, Bobby Warren, and several beloved cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart, with Rev. Kenneth McEntire, Rev. Terry Rice, and Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
