Funeral services for Robert Franklin Harper, age 68, of Demorest will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Anthony Shore officiating. Interment will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 5:00PM.
Mr. Harper passed away April 6, 2016.
Born February 3, 1948, in St. Augustine, Florida, Mr. Harper was the son of the late Robert Franklin Harper, Sr. and Edith May Harper. He worked at Mt. Vernon Mills and was a member of Return Baptist Church. Mr. Harper was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam and was awarded with a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal with bronze star, and a Good Conduct Metal.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Clovia June Harper and brother Mark Harper.
Mr. Harper is survived by mother, Edith Howard Harper of Monroe, son Jeoffrey Alan Grogan, brother William Harper of Macon, nephew Adam Harper and his wife Jennifer, mother-in-law Clairette Holcomb of Demorest, six nieces and nephews and ten great nieces and nephews.
