Richard Dale Grier, Sr., age 67 of Lula, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on January 17, 1954, he was a son of the late Dillard “Bud” Grier and Dorothy King Grier Peters. Mr. Grier was the owner and operator of Grier Unique Concrete for a number of years and prior to that, he worked for Chicopee Manufacturing for a number of years. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Mr. Grier was a gun and knife enthusiast and enjoyed gardening, yard work and animals. Often times he would take in abused animals that no one else wanted.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dillard Roger Grier and Randall Garrett Grier.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Whisnant Grier of Lula; step-father, Kenneth Peters of Cornelia; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Andra Dacus (Courtney) of Commerce, Richard Dale Grier, Jr. (Tammy) of Lula, Charles Whisnant (Nicole) of Homer and Preston Whisnant of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy Strickland of Baldwin, Victoria Marie Carnes (Allen) and Katrina Shea Boyd (Justin) all of Gillsville; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia Grier Sullens-Richmond (Bob) of Alto; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
No formal services are planned at this time.
