Richard Anthony Weldon, age 71 of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 07, 2021.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama on February 26, 1950, he was a son of the late Frank & Cammie Eberhardt Weldon. Richard served his country proudly in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was the owner of Home & Business Improvement, Inc. where he served as a General Contractor with over 35 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed farming, loved gardening, landscaping, and beekeeping. He also enjoyed woodworking, trout fishing, hunting, & boating on Lake Burton. Richard was a very talented artist and loved to paint pictures. He was a member of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Malcolm “Mac” Weldon, Sr. & a nephew, Malcolm “Mac” Weldon, Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Sue Sullivan Weldon of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, GA; son & daughter-in-law, Patrick Anthony & Miranda Weldon of Trussville, AL; daughter & son-in-law, Alison Weldon LaGree & Bret LaGree of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Taylor Fleeman, Maggie Weldon, & Mac LaGree; sisters, Marian Hill of Atlanta, GA. & Betty Tanzer of Longwood, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, & friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Milner Baptist Church Cemetery, 107 Pecan Drive, Milner, GA. 30257 with Pastor Cindy McDonald officiating.
