Rev. Charles Lewis Taylor, age 78, of Dublin, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018.

Services for Rev. Taylor will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Dublin First Baptist Church. Dr. Cliff Morris and Craig Fraser will officiate. Burial will be held at Dexter Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Rev. Taylor was a graduate of Truett McConnell and The University of Georgia where he achieved a Bachelors degree in History. He ministered in many churches in his life including; Tiger Baptist 1965-1967, Nicholson Baptist 1967-1972, Toccoa Creek Baptist 1972-1985, Mt. Carmel Baptist 1985-1999, and Dexter Baptist Church from 1999 until 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Jessie Merritt Taylor, brother, Howard Taylor, sister, Mary Morrison.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Brenda Taylor, daughters, Debbie Jenson (Wes) of Hilton Head, SC, Stephanie Clancy (Keith) of Dublin, granddaughter, Brooke Hipps (Tim) of Macon, grandson, Jackson Clancy of Dublin, great grandsons, Lane Rainey and Charles (Hippy) Hipps both of Macon, brothers, James Taylor, Stanley Taylor, sisters, Inez Bennett and Barbara Payne.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Dublin, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements for Rev. Charles Lewis Taylor.
