Rescheduled soft opening for Yonah Preserve Trails is this Saturday

(Cleveland)- White County officials  have announced a second attempt to open the new biking and walking trails at Yonah Preserve north of Cleveland. The soft opening for the trails was canceled last week because of the torrential rains that hit the area.

Tuesday Clark Neal, the trail project coordinator said they have  re-scheduled the soft opening for this Saturday, June 9th.    The trails will be open from 8am- 5pm.  Neal said, the trails will be available for use on a limited basis Thursdays – Sundays starting on June 14th.

Northeast Georgia Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association  (SORBA) will have volunteers on hand at the trail head to answer any questions you may have.

Neal said, please come out and enjoy the property.  The trails are open to non-motorized use only.  They are hiking, biking and dog friendly, but please bring supplies to pick up after your pooch, as there are no baggie dispensers at the trail head.  There are two porta-potties and a trash container at the trail head parking lot.  Helmets are required to ride bikes on the trails.

Please remember, these are shared use trails, and are multi-directional, so be considerate of your other trail users when passing, advises Neal.

The trails can be accessed from the trail head located at 1054 Albert Reid Road, Cleveland, GA 30528
