Michael Renshaw has been named the sole finalist for the position of White County Manager. Commissioners announced their decision in a news release Monday.
Renshaw has over 29 years of experience in local government leadership and is a Credentialed Manager through the International City/County Management Association. He has over 10 years of experience as a county manager, having previously served in that role for Barrow County and Camden, North Carolina.
Renshaw is a United States Navy veteran who served in the Persian Gulf War. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration degree from Arizona State University.
Following the required 14-day waiting period, the commissioners will vote to fill the position during a called meeting on Monday, May 23, at 4:30 p.m.
Renshaw is set to become the third county manager in White County in just the past year. He will succeed Joey Cason who resigned in March after five months on the job. Cason succeeded Jason Cobb, who left last June after one year.
