Regional drug task force investigation leads to arrest of Toccoa man

A Toccoa man faces drug charges for allegedly manufacturing and selling marijuana from his Doyle Street home.

A press release from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) says 29-year old Michael Emmett was arrested July 22, 2016. That’s when officers from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Toccoa Police Department and ARDEO executed a search warrant at his home located at 881 East Doyle Street.

“The search warrant concluded a two month investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence that was occupied by Michael Emmett, 29, Christie Lynn Lawson, 29, and Lawson’s elderly mother,” the release states.

ARDEO says a marijuana plant, valued at $1,000, scales, and plastic bags were located during the search.

Emmett was arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was transported to the Stephens County Detention Center.
