Fireworks lit up the night sky over Clarkesville Friday during the city’s big summertime bash, ‘Red, White & Tunes.’
The evening event kicked off with a classic car Cruise In on the downtown square. In Pitts Park, kids played in the water. The city provided water slides and an open fire hose to help them beat the heat.
As kids splashed, parents and grandparents danced to the music of South Carolina beach band favorite, The Swingin’ Medallions. The group performed on stage at Pitts Park. After dark, the fireworks took center stage.
The evening was hosted by the City of Clarkesville and Clarkesville Main Street. It was sponsored by local businesses as part of the city’s Friday Night Live summer series of events.
