The Habersham Central Raiders claimed their first win of the season Friday in their last home game of the year. The Raiders beat the Johns Creek Gladiators 21-6. It’s the Raiders’ first win under first year head coach Benji Harrison and their second win in three years.
Fans poured onto John Larry Black Field at Raider Stadium for a long awaited post-game celebration.
October seems to smile on the Raiders. The team’s last win came on October 31, 2014 when they blew past the Raiders of North Forsyth, 32-7. The two region rivals face off again next Friday, October 30th in Cumming.

Two things happened in the wake of last year’s victory: The Raiders won the coveted High 5 Trophy from Fox5 Sports in Atlanta and then head football coach Michael Pollock resigned.
The Raiders have shown steady progress this season under Coach Harrison. The offense has put up a total of 183 points on the board and the defense has held firm, posting some of its best performances in years.

Habersham Central’s last football game this season is November 6th against Chattahoochee High School at Alpharetta.
