Raiders’ Season Ends With Loss to Cougars

It’s not the ending the Habersham Central Raiders wanted but it is the end…at least for now. Central closed out its 2015-2016 high school football season Friday night in Alpharetta with a region loss to Chattahoochee, 55-21. It was the Cougar’s first win of season.

The Raiders’ went 1-9 on the season, 1-8 in region play under first year head coach Benji Harrison. Habersham racked up its only win of the season in a 21-6 win over John’s Creek at home Oct. 23rd.

South Forsyth claimed the Region 6AAAAAA title Friday night in a decisive win over Lambert, 31-6. South will host Norcross (7-3) next week in the first home playoff game for the War Eagles since hosting Elbert County in 2001.

Lambert will host Collins Hill (5-5) in the first round. This is Lambert’s third straight home playoff game and fifth postseason appearance since opening in 2009.
