The Raiders dropped their second consecutive game with a 31-9 loss at Lanier in a pivotal region game.
With the loss, Habersham Central falls to 4-3 on the season, and will play its final three games against Dacula, Winder-Barrow and Apalachee. At 0-2 in region play, the Raiders will likely need two wins in the final three to have a shot at the state playoffs.
Cole Wilbanks had a rushing TD just before the half to keep Hab Central in the game at 21-7. A third quarter safety gave the Raiders new life, but a Lanier field goal and touchdown in the final seconds put the game out of reach.
The Raiders return to action in Week 9 at home against Dacula.
