The AJC released its pre-season Georgia high school football rankings this weekend. The list features a handful of local programs among the state’s best.
Commerce debuts at #10 in Class 1A Public. In Class 1A Private, two Clarke County schools rank near the top. Athens Academy ranks #2 just ahead of Prince Avenue Christian at #3.
The Rabun County Wildcats are ranked #1 in Class 2A.
In Class 3A, it’s Oconee County at #5, Hart County #7, and Dawson County at #10.
The Jefferson Dragons are #2 in Class 4A with Flowery Branch and North Oconee following at #5 and #10, respectively.
Clarke Central rounds out the top ten in Class 5A.
Bubble teams include White County and Union, who have a shot to enter the rankings if they get off to quick starts to the 2020 season.
