Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School’s graduating seniors well-renowned colleges and universities in the United States and around the globe.
Wednesday, May 1 was National College Decision Day, marking the deadline for students to choose where they will attend college for the 2019-2020 academic year. At Rabun Gap, 100% of seniors are accepted to college.
“We are so proud of the Class of 2019 and the bright futures ahead for each of our graduating seniors,” says Head of School Dr. Anthony Sgro. “The impressive list of college acceptances earned this year is a great testament to the strength of our students. We know they will lead the way in college and beyond.”

Rabun Gap’s Class of 2019 earned, in total, 387 acceptances from top-tier liberal arts colleges to the most renowned research universities. Some of the institutions Rabun Gap students will head to next fall include Cornell University, Washington & Lee University, UCLA Berkley, Emory University, University of Georgia, Trinity College, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, New York University, Georgia Tech, and George Washington University
In addition to earning acceptances, several Rabun Gap seniors will study abroad as a part of elite university programs.
“It has been a stellar year for our seniors,” says Director of College Counseling Cheryl Barber. “Finding the best-fit college is a long and challenging process. We are honored to play a part in guiding students and families towards their next phase of the academic journey.”
The 83 members of the Class of 2019 will graduate this Sunday, May 19. The Baccalaureate service will be held at 9 a.m. in the Rearden Theater, followed by the graduation ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on the lawn. In case of rain, graduation will be held in the Rearden Theater.
