Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School hosted its inaugural Green & Gold Gala on Friday, August 4, raising over $100,000 for the private school.
The Gala featured a silent auction with more than 50 items donated by parents and local businesses in Rabun County and the surrounding areas. Guests also enjoyed a seated dinner in the Woodruff Dining Hall, bingo with prizes from local businesses, and a fireworks finale.
“The inaugural Green and Gold Gala was a resounding success on all levels,” says Rabun Gap-Nachoochee’s Head of School Jeff Miles. “Our parents, led by co-chairs Sarah Barge and Bethany Weisser, organized an exciting evening that packed in more than 120 attendees, which is much larger than we anticipated for our first year.”
Proceeds from the event will support Rabun Gap students and teachers in all school divisions, a press release from the school states.
“While we are still calculating the exact amount, we know we exceeded expectations by raising over $100,000 in just four hours,” says Miles. “We look forward to this being an annual tradition open for all community members.”
