Rabun boasts top state passer and receiver

Rabun County's Gunner Stockton and Jaden Gibson

Rabun County Wildcats QB Gunner Stockton and WR Jaden Gibson sit atop the leaderboard for most passing and receiving yards this season.

Stockton widened his lead in passing yards, now at 2,927. He’s tied with Trevor Lawrence for the state record for career TD passes with 161.

Stockton’s career passing yards (12,455) are 1,447 yards behind Lawrence’s total (13,902). Stockton can play between two and six more games, depending on his No. 1-ranked team’s Class 2A playoff success.

Gibson, the first to hit 1,000 receiving yards this season, opened up his lead Friday to 1315. Malik Leverett of Greenbrier is second at 1097.

Keyjuan Brown of South Atlanta is the new rushing leader in Georgia after rushing for 217 yards and five touchdowns on just 14 carries last week in a 62-6 victory over McNair.

The previous leader, Houston County’s Simeon Askew, was unable to play last week against Valdosta.
