Body of missing White County woman found in North Carolina

It’s a sad end to a family’s frantic search for a missing White County woman. Authorities have located the body of 63-year-old Brenda Vandiver.

Vandiver’s body was discovered in Andrews, North Carolina, according to White County Chief Deputy Bob Ingram. He told WRWH News that Vandiver’s vehicle was located in Andrews on Sunday. Her body was discovered about 800 feet from her car.

Officials have not released her cause of death.

Vandiver was last seen alive near her home in Sautee-Nacoochee on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 1.  The White County Sheriff’s Office issued a lookout for her on Sunday, asking for the public’s help to find her. Two White County investigators joined North Carolina authorities and family members in the search.

Few other details are currently available. North Carolina authorities will be conducting an investigation. Ingram said, at this time, authorities do not suspect foul play.
