Time’s running out to register to vote in the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary. Also, if you’ve moved, you must update your voter registration address. The deadline is Monday, February 1, 2016.
You can register and make address changes online at the Georgia Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ga.gov. To use the Online Voter Registration System you must have a valid driver’s license or identification card issued by the GA Department of Driver Services (DDS) with a signature on file with DDS.
You may also register in person at your local voter registration office. To register to vote you must:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a legal resident of the county in which you are registering
- Be at least 17 1/2 years of age to register and 18 years of age to vote
- Not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude (any base or vile conduct, contrary to accepted morals, that accompanies a crime)
- Have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge
