Polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday for primary voting

Voters will have one more opportunity to cast a ballot in the 2024 primary election. Polls will open at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday May 21 and close at 7:00 p.m. at all six precincts across Habersham County.

A list of precincts are listed below.

For voters that may be unsure of their voting precinct, they can contact the Habersham County Voter Registration and Elections Office at 706-839-0170 or go online at My Voter Page to receive that information.

Voters may want to view a sample ballot prior to going to the polls. The Republican and Democratic ballots not only list the candidates but also have eight Party Questions that voters may want to read prior to voting.

Habersham County races

Habersham County has five contested races in the primary. Three are for County Commissioner seats and two are for seats on the Board of Education. The candidates gave their view points on pressing issues in the county during a live debate hosted by Now Habersham on May 9.

Early voting totals

Early voting began on April 29 and ended May 17. During the three weeks of early voting, a total of 3,531 were cast. In-person voters cast 3,312 ballots. There were 276 absentee ballots issued for the May 21 Primary and the Elections Office has accepted 219, according to the Habersham County Voter Registration and Elections Office. The Elections Office voter turnout report was generated Saturday May 18.
