Police Uniform Stolen In Burglary

The Cornelia Police Department wants to make sure no one gets duped by an imposter after a police officer’s uniform was stolen during a burglary at a local dry cleaners. The department was quick to notify the public Tuesday morning following the report of a burglary at B&C Cleaners on North Main Street.

Cornelia PD wants the public to be aware “just in case someone attempts to impersonate an officer.”

The department posted the notice to its Facebook page. According to that information, a shirt and pants were taken. No badges, ID cards or equipment were stolen. The social media post includes photos of an officer in a complete uniform and a Cornelia PD badge. They’re included to show people what an official Cornelia police officer’s uniform should look like (see below).
