Police Ask for Public’s Help in Pharmacy Burglary Investigation

Clarkesville Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who was captured on video burglarizing a local pharmacy. The burglary occurred at Clarkesville Drug on West Louise Street April 10th.

According to a release on the department’s Facebook page, officers were dispatched to the scene around 10:20 that night in response to an alarm. When they arrived they found the front door had been broken by a large rock that was thrown through the glass. The release states, “Inspection of the store video security footage revealed what appears to be a black male wearing blue jeans, navy blue jacket with a hood, green shirt and white tennis shoes enter the pharmacy through the broken glass door.”

Police believe the same suspect was involved in another incident at Clarkesville Drug the night before the burglary in which power to the pharmacy was intentionally turned off.

Clarkesville Police Chief Brad Barrett says, “If anyone has any information I’d certainly like to urge them to give us a call.”

The same pharmacy was burglarized in November 2014. Barrett says those suspects were eventually caught in another jurisdiction.
