Police ask for public’s help after shooting Tuesday

The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred near Limo Road on Tuesday, May 6.

According to the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of gunfire Tuesday afternoon following an altercation in the area. At this time, no injuries have been reported as investigators work to identify all individuals involved.

Authorities have sought public assistance in locating a person of interest connected to the incident. The individual is described as a Black male in his early twenties, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slender build weighing around 120 pounds. He has short black hair, a thin mustache and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and seafoam green joggers.

The suspect also is said to have a distinctive tattoo of a vintage hockey mask — similar to the one featured in the “Friday the 13th” films — with red accents around the eyes, located on his left forearm. Police say he is considered armed and dangerous.

Residents are urged not to approach this individual. Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
