MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Piedmont women’s cross country team finished 13th out of 22 programs at the NCAA South Region Championships early Saturday afternoon. The top six runners for the Lions turned in multiple top 50 finishes.

Leading the pack for the Lions, senior Jaycie Ponce crossed in 23.36.7 for a 37th place finish. Her time mirrored her same time from earlier in the season at the course. Right behind Ponce was Piedmont’s Skyler Seeber who finished in 44th place. Her time of 23:55.9 placed her less than a second ahead of the runner on her back.

Narrowly missing a PR, sophomore Hannah Marlowe crossed third out of the group, turning in a time of 25:14.0. Tanea Davis followed behind Marlowe, finishing in 27:10.6. The time marks a PR performance for her.

Bella Caccamo and Brhea Covington were the final two to cross for the program. Caccamo recorded a time of 28:40.7 while Covington recorded a PR time of 29:21.2.

The race marks the end of the 2023 season for the program.
