Piedmont Set to Host Cancer Awareness Tourney

Piedmont College will be hosting a Cancer Awareness Tournament December 29-30 featuring four teams, including the Lady Lions.

Huntingdon College, a USA South member along with Piedmont, as well as Emory University and Meredith College will all participate in the two-day tournament, featuring just the women’s teams from each college/university.

Huntingdon and Piedmont will not square off, as they have a January 21 date in Demorest and a February 4 date in Alabama as part of the usual home-and-home two-game USA South set.

On Thursday, December 29, Huntingdon will take on Emory at 4 p.m. in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center, while the Piedmont Lady Lions will then take on Meredith at 6 p.m. December 30 features Huntingdon and Meredith at 4 p.m., and Piedmont against Emory at 6 p.m.

The Lady Lions are 6-4 overall on the season and 1-0 in USA South play. While Piedmont has gone just 2-4 away from Demorest, the Lady Lions are a perfect 4-0 when defending the home court. They last played December 19 at Averett University, falling 91-85.
