Amid increasing state-wide cumulative COVID-19 cases, Piedmont College’s more than 700 residential students begin their return to the Demorest campus from across the state– and country. The incoming freshman class will complete their move-in today, Aug. 6, followed by upperclassmen on Aug. 7 and 8.
The college is taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of students and the community during the upcoming semester and move-in process, including temperature checks, COVID-19 prescreening, limiting campus visitors, and requiring students to take the “Piedmont pledge,” a campus-wide effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The college is encouraging residential students to not leave Habersham county and stay on campus as much as possible to limit exposure to COVID-19, with the exception of family emergencies, college activities, and medical or legal matters that would require them to travel.
