Piedmont Names Two New Assistant Athletic Directors

Demorest, GA – Piedmont College Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jim Peeples has announced new roles for some of the department’s members, with head women’s basketball coach Jamie Purdy and sports information director Timmy McCormack taking on the titles of Assistant Director of Athletics.

Purdy, who has spent the last 10-plus years building the women’s basketball program into a three-time conference champion, will also serve as Piedmont’s Senior Woman Administrator. In her role as the SWA, Purdy will be involved in the decision-making process at the departmental level and act as an advocate of female athletics, while ensuring the quality of the student-athlete experience.

McCormack, who serves as Director of Athletic Communications in addition to Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach, also steps into an added role as Assistant Director of Athletics. McCormack will continue to oversee the operation of the Office of Athletic Communications including the newly implemented live online video of home athletic events on the Mane Event Broadcasting Network.
