The Piedmont Lions haven’t played a game since November 22, and won’t return to action until December 1 against Toccoa Falls.
Perhaps no one is as antsy as the Lions to get back on the court, as they have started out 0-3 on the season, and haven’t played in front of the home crowd this season.
In a four-day span, Piedmont dropped three contests, including a 96-83 loss against Hanover College on November 19 in Cincinnati, OH in a tournament hosted by Mt. St. Joseph. The men fell to the host school the following night by a 91-60 score.
In Sewanee, TN the Lions dropped their third straight, this time in dramatic fashion as The University of the South hit a clutch, game-winning three-pointer with two seconds left to take the 52-51 win.
Piedmont’s December slate consists of home games against Toccoa Falls and Emory on December 3. The remaining five December contests are all on the road, including the first two in USA South play.
Senior Chase England leads the team with 13 points per game, adding a double-double of 16 pts and 11 rebounds against Sewanee. Junior Justin Vallejo (12 pts, 6 reb, 3 ast per game) and senior Kelly Assinesi (10 pts,, 5.3 reb, 4 ast) also lead the Lions on the court. The Lions have six seniors on the roster.
