Halloween got off to an early start this year at Piedmont College in Demorest. On October 27, the college’s Department of Residential Living hosted the school’s 5th annual Trunk-Or-Treat event.
This year’s theme was “Adventures in Candyland.” Various student groups and clubs across campus dressed up and decorated booths throughout the Swanson Center.
To make the event more inclusive, the college participates in the growing Teal Pumpkin Project. This means that each booth had non-food treats available for children with allergies.
Local college students who participated in the event include Maggie Smagur, Jonathan Smith, Megan Burchfield, and Geeth Mahagamage, all of Clarkesville. Leslie Lopez of Alto, Ashley Peeples of Demorest, and Kimberly Collins of Mt. Airy also participated in the communitywide event.
