Piedmont ‘Cantabile’ to sing April 7 in Demorest

Piedmont College 'Cantabile' to sing April 7th at 5pm in Brooks Hall.

The Piedmont College a cappella ensemble, Cantabile, will present works from the 1500s to the late 1900s in a concert at 5 p.m., April 7, in Brooks Hall at the Piedmont College Center for Worship and Music in Demorest.

Cantabile is a highly select group of 10 singers that specializes in jazz, pop arrangements, and novelty songs, as well as secular and sacred chamber music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods. Director Dr. Wallace Hinson said the group of 10 singers will perform Italian and French works from the 16th century, English and Scottish folksongs from the 19th century, and arrangements of popular music from the 1960s to the present.

Members of Cantabile are Mitchell Auger, tenor/alto; Kate Berardi, alto; Chastin Dobbs, alto; Albert Gerring, bass; Wallace Hinson, tenor/baritone; Megan Holder, soprano; Cole Martin, baritone/bass; Elizabeth Parmer, soprano/alto; Jennifer Pitt, soprano; and Ben Rikeman, tenor.
