The Piedmont men’s soccer team dropped a 6-3 decision to Sewanee on Sunday after the Tigers had a hot start in the opening half. The Lions battled as senior Brady Puckett contributed a pair of goals, but it was not enough to keep pace with Sewanee.

Sewanee was able to strike first in the fifth minute and took a 2-0 lead quickly with another goal in the eighth minute. The Tigers led 3-0 until Brady Puckett entered and managed to find his way through the crowd off a corner kick to sneak one past the keeper.

In quick succession, not even a full minute later, James Cash took a penalty kick that got the Lions back in the contest to trail 3-2 at the half.

The Tigers would add another three in the second half, with two in the 76th minute before Puckett sent in his second of the day as time was winding down.

Piedmont was out-shot 26-8 in the game as Bobby Wood made five saves in the first half while Colin Sheeler added three in the second half.
