Piedmont baseball’s Andrew Burden named USA South Player of the Week

The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly Athlete of the Week honor roll with sophomore baseball player ANDREW BURDEN earning USA South Player of the Week.


Burden’s honor comes after going 4-for-9 over the weekend at Guilford and posting a 1.333 slugging percentage. The sophomore from Sharpsburg, Georgia opened the season with a home run in each of the first two games and recorded a triple in Saturday’s contest.

The USA South Athletic Conference announces its weekly honor roll each Monday and at least half of the teams in a sport must have competed within the previous week for honors to be awarded.

ANDREW BURDEN, Piedmont – The sophomore infielder from Sharpsburg, Georgia went a combined 4-for-9 (.444) with a .500 on-base percentage and a 1.333 slugging percentage to go along with three runs scored, five RBI, one triple and two home runs as the Lions split a two-game series with Guilford to open the season. In game-two, Burden was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, three RBI, one triple and one home run.
