Habersham North Precinct poll worker Evelyn Church of Clarkesville has worked at the polls for 15 years. She says yesterday’s lines were the longest she’s seen. Voters at the Habersham North Precinct located at the Aquatic Center in Clarkesville had plenty of elbow room once they got into the polling station. Voters who went to the wrong precinct were allowed to cast paper provisional ballots. Poll workers greeted voters as they stepped into and out of the voting booths. Lines at the Habersham North Precinct at the Aquatic Center snaked around two-thirds of the building. Voting lines Tuesday at the Aquatic Center. Stephanie Frankum of Clarkesville said she went to vote because it’s her “civic duty.” Voters in Clarkesville waited for hours to cast their ballots on Nov. 4, 2014. Lines at the Habersham South Precinct at the Cornelia Depot weren’t as long as in Clarkesville but the polling precinct is much smaller. The line formed outside as people waited to get inside the precinct. Voters in Cornelia chatted it up in line as they waited to vote. Almost there…it took voters between 15-30 minutes to get inside the Habersham South Precinct. Once inside they had to wait awhile longer. Voters slip in the door at the Habersham South Precinct in Cornelia. Once inside they found that the line wrapped around the inside of the building. Voters in Cornelia patiently wait inside the Cornelia Depot for their chance to vote.
