Pendergrass man faces child pornography charges

A Pendergrass man is facing child pornography charges after a multi-agency investigation, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

The joint operation led by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI resulted in the arrest of 23-year-old Raul Alberto Flores from Pendergrass.

Flores faces charges under Georgia’s Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act and possession of child sexual abuse material, according to Jackson County authorities.

The operation involved several agencies, including the GBI Digital Forensics Unit, the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, the Pendergrass Police Department, and West Jackson Fire and EMS.

“This arrest underscores our unwavering commitment to protecting our children from online exploitation,” Sheriff Kevin B. McCook said. “The successful operation was made possible through the dedication and teamwork to bring justice to those who prey on the innocent.”

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 706-367-8718.
