The Peach State Federal Credit Union C.A.R.E.S. Foundation has committed to contributing $10,000 to the North Georgia Technical College Foundation over the next five years. The program will receive $2,000 each year for student scholarships.

The newly created Peach State Federal Credit Union Scholarship will be initially presented this summer semester. The scholarship was created for students who are enrolled at the college and have an unmet financial need. Scholarship recipients will receive up to $500 per semester for tuition, fees, required equipment, or books. The recipients will be selected by the College’s Foundation Scholarship Committee each semester.

“The creation of this new scholarship will help multiple North Georgia Tech students each year,” said Cynthia Brown, Director of Institutional Advancement for the North Georgia Technical College Foundation. “For those who may be struggling financially, this scholarship could help them continue or complete their education.”

“Our credit union was formed by educators 60 years ago and the C.A.R.E.S. Foundation honors that history by supporting education through scholarships like these,” remarked Marshall Boutwell, Peach State’s President/CEO. “We are proud to be able to assist these students on their educational journeys.”
