Habersham County library branch managers Wendy Gera and Annabelle Wiley along with Friends of the Library presidents Millie Stevens and Carol Hasty accept the PSFCU donations.
Peach State Federal Credit Union has committed to donating $5,000 to two Northeast Georgia libraries over the next five years.
The Cornelia and Clarkesville branches will each receive $500 per year through 2022 from the credit union beginning this year.
Fostering literacy and goodwill
“Peach State’s commitment to education and our community leads us to many opportunities that support learning,” remarks Peach State’s President/CEO Marshall Boutwell. “This contribution to these local libraries is a natural extension of that commitment. We’re proud to support them and the work that they do for our community.”
“This donation will allow us to provide more resources for library guests on an ongoing basis and we are so grateful for Peach State’s generosity,” says Cornelia Library Branch Manager Annabelle Wiley. “These donations are an important contribution to fostering literacy in our community—we look forward to putting this donation to work,” adds Clarkesville Library Branch Manager Wendy Gera.
The Cornelia and Clarkesville libraries are branches of the Northeast Georgia Regional Library System. Headquartered in Clarkesville, the regional library system works with six affiliated libraries in Habersham, Rabun, Stephens, and White Counties.
