Peach State Federal Credit Union is donating $5,000 to the Habersham Community Theater. The credit union recently announced it will give HCT $1,000 annually through 2022.

“Peach State is focused on making a positive impact in the communities that we serve, which includes supporting the arts,” says Peach State President and CEO Marshall Boutwell. “We believe that making theater and other arts accessible to our member-owners and the surrounding community elevates the community as a whole.”

HCT is housed in the Historic Habersham Theater on Washington Street in Clarkesville. It was built as a movie theater in 1937 and preserved as a community playhouse when the HCT Board of Directors purchased the building in 1999.

“On behalf of the HCT board, we are so appreciative of Peach State Federal Credit Union for their support of our mission to bring live theater to our community,” says theater board member and vice-president of marketing Bob Warren.

HCT kicked off its current season with a production of Little Women in September. The theater’s next production, Fruitcakes, opens on Nov. 29.
