The city of Demorest announced water outages that are scheduled to take place this week – both for needed fire hydrant updates.
Residents along Cedar Avenue to the end of Holly Street, Walnut Avenue, Tennessee Street, and Porter Street may experience a water outage throughout the day on Tuesday, March 4. The outage is expected to last five to six hours.
Residents of Glory Lane, Hazel Wood Drive, Carl Loudermilk Road, and areas along Hazel Creek at the Camp Creek intersection to the intersection of Dicks Hill also are advised to prepare for a water outage on Thursday, March 6, according to city officials.
That outage is also expected to last five to six hours.
All affected residents will be placed under a boil water advisory over the course of those two days. Residents are urged to take precautions and use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene until further notice.
