Another arrest has been made in connection with an alleged meth trafficking ring that officials say was operating in Habersham and Gwinnett Counties.
40-year-old Tonya Loudermilk was arrested by Habersham County deputies Friday at a residence off of BC Grant Road in Baldwin. She’s currently being held in the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center on conspiracy charges, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Matthew Wurtz.
Authorities had been searching for Loudermilk for more than two weeks, ever since authorities arrested three others in connection with the alleged drug operation.
36-year-old Jennifer Bone and 34-year-old Ronald Jones were taken into custody on June 14 at the Circle K convenience store in Hollywood following what officials describe as a lengthy surveillance.
Agents with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) along with officers from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office made the arrests.
ARDEO Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey says a bag containing 56 grams of methamphetamine was found in Bone and Jones’ car. The investigation revealed Bone was selling methamphetamine for Loudermilk.
After Bone’s arrest, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) executed a search warrant at Loudermilk’s residence at the Island Apartments on Satellite Boulevard. Loudermilk wasn’t home but officials say another suspect in the case, 40-year-old Derek Lynn Cagley of Newnan, was there. When officers arrived, Posey says, Cagley “attempted to flush 2 kilograms of methamphetamine in the toilet.”
Officers seized $110,880 worth of drugs and approximately $20,000 in cash.
Cagley was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine and transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
Bone and Jones were arrested for trafficking methamphetamine and transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.
Loudermilk remained a fugitive from justice until her arrest on June 30. In addition to the conspiracy charges, she faces charges in Gwinnett County in relation to the search warrant that was conducted there.
