The Hall County School District will have a school from home day on Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to the possibility of winter weather.
The school district issued a statement Monday evening saying, “The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.”
Governor Brian Kemp declared a statewide state of emergency ahead of anticipated winter weather, and Hall County is under a winter weather advisory. The timing and possibility of snow tomorrow morning has the potential to affect roadways immediately.
All 12-month employees are asked to report to work at 8 a.m.
“As of now, all after-school practices and extracurricular events scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, are canceled,” says Hall County School District Director of Communications, Stan Lewis. He adds that district officials will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions and will provide an update by 4 p.m. Tuesday regarding school and extracurricular events scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 22.
