A Baldwin man was hospitalized with serious injuries following a weekend wreck near Carnesville.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Eli Sanders was driving a Jeep Wrangler north on Highway 63 near Fulbright Road on Sunday when he ran off the road in a curve. The vehicle traveled onto the east shoulder of the road, striking a metal post sign.
The crash report says Sanders swerved to the right, causing the Wrangler to overturn onto its left side. The vehicle struck several metal fence posts and a hog wire fence. The Wrangler kept overturning and came to final rest on its right side, in a horse pasture at 4386 Highway 63.
The 33-year-old Sanders sustained multi-trauma injuries. Banks County EMS transported him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville in “very serious condition,” says Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols.
There were no other vehicles involved in the wreck.
