One person hospitalized after shooting in Banks County

The Banks County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person in the hospital and another behind bars.

Shortly before midnight on Tuesday, May 30, Banks County deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Groover Lane.

“Although this is an ongoing investigation, we can disclose that one individual is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, and another is in custody,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release Wednesday.

Investigators determined both parties knew each other. The sheriff’s office says there is no known threat to the public.

Authorities did not release any names or motives in the shooting. They say they’ll release more information once their investigation is complete.
