One Book Habersham reveals this year’s featured book and author

A Stone for Sascha by Aaron Becker has been chosen as the 2019 One Book Habersham (OBH) – Together We Read picture book. The featured book was revealed during the Habersham School System’s Board Work Session on Tuesday.

A Caldecott winner, in this “achingly beautiful wordless epic,” a young girl grieves the loss of her dog as the family takes a vacation by the ocean without him.

A Stone for Sascha is the first book written by Becker since his 2014 Caldecott Honor Book, Journey, in which a lonely girl draws a magic door on her bedroom wall and through it escapes into a world full of wonder, adventure, and danger.
