Ola Mae James DeMore 92, life-time resident of Clarkesville, Georgia died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Habersham Home East in Demorest.
Born in Turnerville, Georgia on April 9, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Garnett Ciscro and Rilla Mae Blair James. Mrs. DeMore had been a member of Fairfield Baptist Church for 64 years. She loved serving the Lord and started a YWA up at the church and would provide rides for all the girls each meeting date; she taught Sunday School for different age groups and assisted with Bible school. She was a member of the WMU serving as president for many years. She visited the sick faithfully until she was admitted to the nursing home in November, 2015.
Ola Mae retired from Scovill Manufacturing Co. with 25 years of service. She was the first employee hired when they located to Clarkesville and was the first woman to serve in a supervisor position in any of their companies. After retirement, she and Ray enjoyed traveling and camping. Mrs. DeMore was a great seamstress, making clothes, items for the home and quilted a quilt for each of her six grandchildren. She enjoyed growing flowers, vegetables and being a help-mate to her husband. Her family was her greatest joy always willing to lend a helping hand to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the model of elegance, strength and integrity throughout her life. She studied the Bible and lived by the highest Christian values. She was a perfect example to all who knew her of how to live a life blessed by grace and truth. She was a witness for God until the end.
Mother you were the best mother a child could have wished for and we will miss you deeply, however, knowing that you are with daddy the love of your life and your heavenly father gives us great comfort.
