Officials set White County and Cleveland millage rates

2021 tax millage rates have been set by White County and City of Cleveland officials.

Following a third public hearing on the issue Monday, the White County Board of Commissioners approved the county’s 2021 millage rate at 10.75 mills. According to White County Finance Director Jodi Ligon, the millage rate has remained the same since 2018 and will generate just over 11-million dollars in property tax revenue.

The White County Board of Education last week set their millage rate at 16.06 mills.

The Cleveland City Council also approved Monday night the city’s tax millage rate of 5.918 mills for the 2021 tax year.

White County Tax Commissioner Cindy Cannon will now submit the tax digest to be reviewed by the state of Georgia. On August 16, tax bills will be mailed or emailed to property owners. White County property taxes are due by November 15.
