Summer is still several months away, but area schools are already planning for next fall. Here is an updated list of coaching changes at some of our area schools.
COMMERCE
Football – Commerce posted the head coaching vacancy on December 10, ending Mark Hollars‘ tenure. Lenny Gregory was named head coach on January 13. He coached Collins Hill and recent Heisman winner Travis Hunter to a State Championship in 2021.
Volleyball – Commerce posted that the job was vacated by Macey Fouche.
DAWSON COUNTY
Football – Jaybo Shaw (former Rabun County head coach) was named the new coach after Sid Maxwell announced his retirement following the season.
TALLULAH FALLS
Athletic Director – Long-time AD Scott Neal elected for retirement after some 40 years of coaching. No replacement has been named at this time.
CROSS COUNTRY – Scott Neal (also AD, above), announced his retirement at the end of the 2024-25 year. No replacement has been named at this time.
Track & Field – Scott Neal (also AD, above), announced his retirement at the end of the 2024-25 year. No replacement has been named at this time.
UNION COUNTY
Football – Michael Perry left Union for Flowery Branch. No replacement has been named.
