Runaway teens found safe

The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office says three teens who ran away from a North Georgia treatment facility have been found safe.

On Sunday, April 27, Christopher “CJ” Brooks, Maddix Waterbuck, and Riley Swinsord ran away from the Eagle Overlook facility near the Lumpkin-Hall County line. The sheriff’s office issued a lookout, asking people in the community for help to find the boys.

Officials believed the trio might have been headed toward Athens or Augusta.

There was special concern for Swinsord, who left without insulin for his diabetes, the sheriff’s office says.

Investigators did not say where they teens were located, but the investigator on the case, Chris Kupper, said,”All kids were found and brought back safe to the facility.”
